BioKansas Membership categories and definitions:
Employee of Current Member:
This option is for employees of current BioKansas members, and will be subject to approval by both BioKansas and the member organization.
Defined as a for-profit company whose focus of activity is to perform research or provide products/services within the biosciences industry. The yearly dues for each member company in this category will be based on the number of US employees of the company.
Defined as a for-profit company that provides services to the biosciences industry (e.g.: consulting, accounting, legal, communications, or other services). The yearly dues for each member company in this category will be based on the number of Kansas and Kansas City area* employees of the company.
Academic – Teaching Institution:
Defined as an educational institution whose primary focus is teaching. The yearly dues for each member institution in this category will be based on the annual FTE (full-time equivalent) student enrollment.
Academic – Research University:
Defined as a research institution who in addition to teaching also receives significant funding which is dedicated to research. The yearly dues for each member institution in this category will be based on federal life sciences expenditures.
Not-for-profit & Government Agency:
Defined as a 501c entity or government agency. The yearly dues for each member in this category will be based on the annual budget for each entity or agency.
Defined as an individual hospital that is not and does not intend to represent any other entity or entities besides itself (e.g.: such as an association of hospitals or otherwise).
